  • Prevent viewing board until validated in 2.2.6 ?

I just setup a new board with 2.2.6 and set it to require validation of new users. I ran a trial registration myself and was immediately let back into the board and listed as a new user. I did this without validaton. I realize that it's not going to let me post, but I would prefer that a new user not be able to see the board at all until they've been validated.

How do I setup the board so that new users are not let in at all until they've been validated ?

    Thanks, Kirk

Set the user group permissions for '(COPPA) Users Awaiting Moderation' to:

    Can view board = No

I did that, but a new user is offered a link back to the board where they can read threads before I validate them. I'd like new users to not see that board at all until they've been validated.

What user group are they in? Whatever it is, just change the permissions on that group.

I just tested this on my test forum. If your have 'Moderate New Members' set to 'On', then they go into the (COPPA) group. However if you also have 'Verify Email address' On, then this setting seems to take precedence and they go into the 'User Awaiting' group. Setting permissions for both groups should do the trick.

            I'll give it a try.

            Thanks for the help.
