Header and footer

Hi.

Is it possible to include our own header and footer files, as in include or require, inside header and footer templates instead of pasting the actual codes for those files?

you can edit the header and footer templates to whatever you want. Admin CP -> Templates -> Modify -> [expand list] -> header and footer

i have a feeling i'm not fully understanding what you want to do.

If you're asking if you can put php code in the header or footer templates, the answer is no. The only template that will parse php is phpinclude.
