Moderators panel not working

Hi,

I defined a moderator for a forum, and had a user post to that forum. The message isn't displayed (as it should). I go to the mod panel, using the valid login and pass from a valid moderator, but i can't get access to the panel and it says "You are either not a valid moderator or have not logged in."

did you check that the user you made a moderator is in the moderator usergroup?

yes, it is in the moderator group

I assume the username is 'luis' since that is the only moderator of a forum on your site. That username receives this message? Can either of your admin accounts access the mod cp?

What's the URL to your forum? Do you have a phpinfo.php file? If not create one with this content:

Upload it to your forum directory and post the URL here.

BTW, no user, and not even the admin can acces the mod panel

You're running PHP 4.2.1, not 4.2.0. However register_globals is 'On' so that's not the problem.

Be sure to include the login info to your Admin CP and FTP.

With Vbulletin 2.2.6 the problem still persists

The problem isn't gone after updating to vbulletin 2.2.6.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

I checked the support trickets and found this bit of advice:

"I believe one of the current limitations of the mod control panel is that you need to save your username/password in a cookie to login."

Try this - Make sure that the Mods who are having the problem set both 'Automatically login when you return to the site? (uses cookies)' and 'Browse board with cookies?' to yes. Also make sure their browser settings allow cookies and that there is no firewall software blocking cookies.

Thank you very much. I didn't think of that, but it sounds reasonable now.

It would be nice to change this for future releases of the program though, or perhaps to include a special chapter in the manual about detailed configuration of the forum and its limitations.
