  • Importing from UBB 6.2

I just purchased vbb 2.2.5 today to replace my old forum UBB 6.2 Installation went ok, no problems. The url of my discussion board is www.rapidforum.at.

To test and install the new software vbulletin properly, I have set up the url of: vb.rapidforum.at to test everything.

Now I run into problems using the import tool.

I get the following error message:

Database error in vBulletin Control Panel 2.2.5:

    Invalid SQL: INSERT INTO userfield
    (userid,field1,field2,field3,field4,importuserid,isnew)
    VALUES
    ('17',
    '',
    '',
    '',
    '',
    '00000014',1
    )
mysql error: Unknown column 'field1' in 'field list'

    mysql error number: 1054

Date: Monday 06th of May 2002 08:18:24 PM
    Script: http://vb.rapidforum.at/importers/bbimport_ubb6.php
    Referer: *************************************************************************
I am also unsure what to write in the selection field titled "Relative Path from vBulletin folder to UBB non-cgi folder", as both scripts run on different urls.

    Kindly seek your assistance,

    best regards,

    Florian Bodenseher

P.S.: dedicated server, php, mysql.. all installed

The vB and UBB files need to be on the same server for the import script to work.

Is there any way to get around this? My boards are on different servers, and now I'm stuck...

Not that I'm aware of. The import script expects these to be on the same server, probably because negotiating permissions across servers is a tricky business at best. What I did was zip all the UBB files on my old server, downloaded this file to my home computer, then uploaded it to the new server.

              Further UBB Advice

I have done likewise and have managed to import most of the data, the problem I had was the backing up of the current data on the cgi run UBB.

It wont seem to complete a full backup, any ideas as to why it does this, disk space is fine etc.

              Any thoughts

              Cheers

              Sean

It depends on what you used to make the backup. I've always uses tar w/gzip and have never had a problem with incomplete backups.
