  • Access marks

    Hello.

I manage our user forums, and currently it is set up like this:

Current clients have access to clients only area, which is a separate category with different forums.

For each client requesting access, right now, the way it is done is to go into the "edit access marks" for each client and choose "yes" option for each forum, meaning if there are x number of forums, each forum is ticked yes for each client.

The category is set as a "Private forum" with access marks on.

Is there a way to simplify this process, like choose only the category as "yes" for a user [which doesn't work] and have that setting show all the forums, for that very user, in that specific category?

Or somehow change usergroup for a user to some custom usergruop, and that should automcatially give the desired result? [for example, if usergroup is set to clients, it would give that user access to that category of choice?]

Right now it works by choosing yes in access marks for each of the forum, but it consumes time in a way.

    Thanks.

At this time, this is the only way to accomplish this. However in vBulletin 3.0 you can assign multiple user groups to users and simplify the granting of rights through forum permissions and usergroups.
