  • can a change to an existing template be considered a "hack"?

In a thread at vbulletin.org ( Quick ansver form for the curious) I see a suggestion to add a "quick reply" box at the bottom of a thread by making a change to the showthread template. Since this is only a template change, does it count as a "hack" that would make our installation unsupported?
Note: currently we are on vBulletin Version 2.2.4

Hacks are any changes to the php files and/or database. If this is only a change to the templates, then it's not a 'hack'.

While it's not viewed as a hack as such, it will not prevent you from being asked to revert any templates back to their original state, should you ever ask for support.

That's a good point Fusion. Sometimes template changes by themselves can cause problems on the forum.
