  • VB crashing MySQL

MySql is crashing constantly throughout the day. When it happens I kill all mysql processes and restart MySQL, but am looking for what the cause is. Does anyone know what can cause this error? (It is the only thing that appears on my site when mysql goes down)

    Database error in vBulletin 2.2.4:

Invalid SQL: SELECT COUNT(*) AS posts FROM post
mysql error: Server shutdown in progress

    mysql error number: 1053

Thats strange, it's a similar error, but in my case the forums become completly inaccessable when it happens to my boards, and as far as I know, it is not being caused by a particular thread (the error message displays where the board should be, and all i can do is restart mysql constantly).

Not likely, I run my own dedicated server.

we someone or some script of cron job is telling mysql to shutdown that's for sure

do you run any cron jobs that touch mysql's actual data files in the mysql data directory ?

have you checked your mysql *.err log for details of what' is causing this ?

The problem may or may not be tied into this thread:
            http://www.htmlforums.com/showthread.php?threadid=12610

I am unable to delete it both through the forums admin system, as well as through mysql directly. How can I get rid of it?

Also, in the mysql error log, it repeatedly gives the user that owns the fourms database. Mysql has been crashing constantly for about 3 days now, and I am not any closer to a solution.

Here is an error that I got while trying to manipulate that thread:
              Database error in vBulletin 2.2.4:
