    Yep this happens to me too with my 2.2.4 forums. I don't know when this problem was introduced but I don't recall this happening in any previous versions.

      Other info...

      When I browse for the file to upload, the radiobutton focus doesn't change to NO, it remains on yes.

      When I submit, it opens the correct template (at least it seems so), it says THANKS FOR UPDATING PROFILE, but the upload never actually happened.

      I can only say that with 2.2.2 it worked perfectly.

      Same thing happens from the Admin CP, can't upload any avatar on member's profile.

      If it is acknowledge by you Smachol, could you move this one to the BUGS forum? Or should we wait for an ACK by the development team?

      Thanks...

                Not sure when it was introduced, but I believe it was probably inadvertant.

                It's a simple template change though. Replace

                formname.avatarid[1].checked=true;

                with

                formname.customavatarcheck.checked=true;

                in modifyavatar_custom and you're set.

                    Robouk,

                    I had the attachment problem in posts, and was able to fix it by combining two fixes (one in modifying templates, the other one by modifying the code in functions.php. Let me know if you want the exact details.

                      Perfect! Now it works fine.

                        Didn't work for me Ed...

                        And I also noticed that on this forum the template contains formname.avatarid[1].checked=true; not customavatarcheck, but the upload of the avatar works correctly. So I didn't understand if that template modification is a bug or not.

                        Do you have other suggestions Ed?

                          Question...

                          Has Ed's fix helped?

                          Didn't work for me and I'm wondering if I'm the only one for wich Ed's fix wasn't helpful.

                                i just handled a few vB support issues regarding avatar/attachment uploading problems... if you're having problems can each member create a new thread in this forum for their issue instead of tagging on a single thread...

                                in that new thread please

                                1. tell me your vB version you're using

                                2. create a file named phpinfo.php and place this code in it and post the url/link to it from your web site

                                <?
                                phpinfo();
                                ?>

                                i.e. yourdomain.com/phpinfo.php

                                3. in vB admin panel -> template search

                                do a search for

                                $enctype

                                and tell me whether you get
                                - no results brought back or
                                - whether you get 4 templates displayed (editpost, modifyavatar, newreply, and newthread templates)

                                remember each member post this in a new thread for your issue
