First you should upgrade to the latest version which is 2.2.2. You have already protected your admin directory so that is good.

As for banning, you should turn on email confirmation, this way they need to enter a valid email address to register and use the board. You can also ban free email providers should you choose to do so.

    Vbulletin Security Measures

    Hey dudes,

What security measures should be taken with vbulletin?

I am running 2.0.3 and am having problems finding the encryption hack, the link is dead from the vbulletin.org site.

Does anyone have the .txt file?

Besides that hack, what other measures should be taken? i have .htaccess'ed my admin dir.

Also, how do you guys get around dudes who re-register with proxys everytime you ban their IP?

    Regards
