it should be on your control panel home page in the main frame... in the table that says Useful Admin Stuff.

Are you on a Windows server?

It only works on Linux servers where you have permissions to use the 'top' command.

Apache is the webserver, but is the server's OS Windows or some form of *Nix?

On a Windows 2000 server there is no way to remotely look at the server load like you can on linux. The best way to look at the server load is through Task Manager (Ctrl-Shift-Escape) but you can only do that from the local console.

It sounds like your host has denied you access to the 'top' command. Or if you have a dedicated server you might be able to fix this yourself.
This could be caused by using a restrictive server administration program like Plesk.
