  • 2.2.2 - Print Thread Option = Wrong Colors

    Issues is with the PRINT THREAD OPTION. When you click the link to display a printable version of a thread, it uses the forum font colors. In this case I have yellow (backgound on my site is black.). So, yellow on white is not what is needed to be printable.

    Seeing it is for printing, this needs to be forced to all black text on the page. Can someone please advise on the changes needed to be made. (Shame this was not fixed in 2.2.2 for it was reported a long time ago.)

    Dave, I believe the problem you have is that you have specified the yellow colour as part of the 'main font' (<normalfont>) definition.

    What you need to do is remove that definition, so that the 'colour' attribute of 'Main Font' is empty, and then add that colour to the <body> tag definition higher up in the styles page.

    So, if you wanted your text to be yellow and the background to be black, rather than defining that colour within the Main Font definition, you should change your body tag. Currently you have this:

    <body link="#ff7f00" alink="#ff7f00" vlink="#c0d9d9" bgcolor="#000000" id="all" leftmargin="10" topmargin="10" marginwidth="10" marginheight="10">

    You should change that to this:

    <body text="#FFFF00" link="#ff7f00" alink="#ff7f00" vlink="#c0d9d9" bgcolor="#000000" id="all" leftmargin="10" topmargin="10" marginwidth="10" marginheight="10">

    and remove the colour definition from 'Main Font'.

    That will solve your problems with the print thread page

    [edit - fixed color="" -> text="" - thanks Dave ]

      Thank you for your reply.

      Doing what you said made all the text black. I did remove the YELLOW setting in the Main Font: color area and then added what you had mentioned the the body tag. It did not work. Should that not be fontcolor= or text= or something like that?

            Opps...wait, come back. Now my forum link colors are orange like the rest of the text in the forums list. It used to be YELLOW.

            If I make the LINK color yellow, then it al really looks weird.

            Help again please so my forum link color is yellow.

              Dave, could you set me up a temporary admin account for your board so I can come and have a look, then either fix what needs to be fixed, or talk you through it?

                LOL....I just took out ALL the color options from the lower areas. All seems to be ok at this point and also very well. I like what it came out like.

                I must say....THANK YOU for looking to be so helpful. Very nice of you.
