    Yes although you can drop the
    -h localhost
    since you are on the localhost. You can also add the database name in the login string so you don't have to type the use... bit later:
    mysql -uusername -p databasename

    Finally for quick stuff like this you might want to look into phpMyAdmin since it can be infinitely faster than loading up your Telnet/SSH client, logging in, logging into MySQL etc.

    Hi in order to run that sql command to turn off email notifications to 0 for all users, can I do this?

    mysql -h localhost -u username -p

    use databasename;

    update user set emailnofication ....

    Thanks for the fast reply but

    In control panel under edit option


    Use 'Email Notification' by default?
    Using this option emails you whenever someone replies to a thread that you have participated in.


    Im trying to set that to no in the control panel for all users not
    unsubscribe them sorry.

    You can but why would you do this? Maybe your users *want* to be subscribed?

    Anyway if you must run this query:
    DELETE FROM subscribethread;
