  • How do I put a info Center/Nav Bar on the right?

    Ok I'm looking to make a info center like http://www.webhostingtalk.com/
    to the right of the actualy boards... Exactly like they have it.

    I found a few posts on this, but none of the suggestion methods would work...

    The conent always shows up at the bottom instead of the right...

    Here's my current footer with the suggested changes:
    Code:
    </td>
    </tr>
    </table>
    <!-- /content area table -->
    </center>
    </td><td width="150">
    <!-- This is where you put the stuff you want in the side -->
    Right Side TestRight Side TestRight Side TestRight Side TestRight Side TestRight Side TestRight Side TestRight Side TestRight Side TestRight Side TestRight Side TestRight Side TestRight Side TestRight Side TestRight Side TestRight Side TestRight Side TestRight Side TestRight Side TestRight Side Test
      </td>
    </tr></table>

    <p align="center">
      <normalfont><b>&lt; <a href="$contactuslink">Contact Us</a> - <a href="$homeurl">$hometitle</a>
      <!-- - <a href="$privacyurl">Privacy Statement</a> --> &gt;</b></normalfont>
    </p>

    <p align="center"><smallfont>
    <!-- Do not remove this copyright notice -->
      Powered by: vBulletin Version $templateversion<br>
      Copyright &copy;2000, 2001, Jelsoft Enterprises Limited.<br>
    <!-- Do not remove this copyright notice -->
    $copyrighttext
    </smallfont></p>

    And the header:
    Code:
    <!-- logo and buttons -->
    <center>
    <table border="0" width="100%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
    <tr>

      <td valign="bottom" align="right" nowrap>
       <!-- toplinks -->
       <a href="usercp.php?s=$session[sessionhash]"><img src="images/top_profile.gif" alt="Here you can view your subscribed threads, work with private messages and edit your profile and preferences" border="0"></a>
       <a href="register.php?s=$session[sessionhash]&action=signup"><img src="images/top_register.gif" alt="Registration is free!" border="0"></a>
       <a href="calendar.php?s=$session[sessionhash]"><img src="images/top_calendar.gif" alt="Calendar" border="0"></a>
       <a href="memberlist.php?s=$session[sessionhash]"><img src="images/top_members.gif" alt="Find other members" border="0"></a>
       <a href="misc.php?s=$session[sessionhash]&action=faq"><img src="images/top_faq.gif" alt="Frequently Asked Questions" border="0"></a>
       <a href="search.php?s=$session[sessionhash]"><img src="images/top_search.gif" alt="Search" border="0"></a>
       <a href="index.php?s=$session[sessionhash]"><img src="images/top_home.gif" alt="Home" border="0"></a>
       <!-- <a href="member.php?s=$session[sessionhash]&action=logout"><img src="images/top_logout.gif" alt="Logout" border="0"></a>  -->
       &nbsp;
       <!-- /toplinks -->
      </td>
    </tr>
    </table>
    <!-- /logo and buttons -->
    <table border=0 cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0 width="100%"><tr>
      <td width="100%">
    <!-- content table -->
    <table bgcolor="#FFFFFF" width="100%" cellpadding="10" cellspacing="0" border="0">
    <tr>
      <td>
    <!-- kaotixVIBEinc -->
    <script>
    <!--
    function jumpPage(newLoc) {
    	newPage = newLoc.options[newLoc.selectedIndex].value
    	if (newPage != "") { window.location.href = newPage }
    }
    // -->
    </script>
    <!-- /kaotixVIBEinc -->

    Really apreciate any help given... Been working on this for two days straight without any luck.... Really want to add a cool info center...but can't get past this retarded right table problem...

      Thought it might be the script causing trouble, still no good... Nor moving most of the code for the bar to the footer... Neither worked..

        you should prolly put the script block in your headinclude template.

        you've got an extra table in there it looks like. try this for your footer:

        Code:
        </td>
        <!-- /content area table -->
        <td width="150">
        <!-- This is where you put the stuff you want in the side -->
        Right Side TestRight Side TestRight Side TestRight Side TestRight Side TestRight Side TestRight Side TestRight Side TestRight Side TestRight Side TestRight Side TestRight Side TestRight Side TestRight Side TestRight Side TestRight Side TestRight Side TestRight Side TestRight Side TestRight Side Test
          </td>
        </tr>
        </table>
        </center>

        <p align="center">
          <normalfont><b>&lt; <a href="$contactuslink">Contact Us</a> - <a href="$homeurl">$hometitle</a>
          <!-- - <a href="$privacyurl">Privacy Statement</a> --> &gt;</b></normalfont>
        </p>

        <p align="center"><smallfont>
        <!-- Do not remove this copyright notice -->

        <!-- Do not remove this copyright notice -->
        $copyrighttext
        </smallfont></p>
        and this for your header:
        Code:
        <!-- logo and buttons -->
        <center>
        <table border="0" width="100%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
        <tr>

          <td valign="bottom" align="right" nowrap>
           <!-- toplinks -->
           <a href="usercp.php?s=$session[sessionhash]"><img src="images/top_profile.gif" alt="Here you can view your subscribed threads, work with private messages and edit your profile and preferences" border="0"></a>
           <a href="register.php?s=$session[sessionhash]&action=signup"><img src="images/top_register.gif" alt="Registration is free!" border="0"></a>

           <a href="search.php?s=$session[sessionhash]"><img src="images/top_search.gif" alt="Search" border="0"></a>
           <a href="index.php?s=$session[sessionhash]"><img src="images/top_home.gif" alt="Home" border="0"></a>
           <!-- <a href="member.php?s=$session[sessionhash]&action=logout"><img src="images/top_logout.gif" alt="Logout" border="0"></a>  -->

           <!-- /toplinks -->
          </td>
        </tr>
        </table>
        <!-- /logo and buttons -->

        <!-- content table -->
        <table bgcolor="#FFFFFF" width="100%" cellpadding="10" cellspacing="0" border="0">
        <tr>
          <td>
        <!-- kaotixVIBEinc -->
        <script>
        <!--
        function jumpPage(newLoc) {
        	newPage = newLoc.options[newLoc.selectedIndex].value

        }
        // -->
        </script>
        <!-- /kaotixVIBEinc -->
        this should work... i can't test this cos i'm at work right now (and move that script block to your headinclude template)

            in your other forum pages it is working. looks like your welcome box on your forumhome is restructuring the tables... check your forumhome template.

                try removing the bold line from this section in your forumhome:

                Code:
                <!-- main -->
                <table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0" bgcolor="#555576"  width="100%" align="center"><tr><td>

                $forumbits

                </tr>
                </table>
                </td></tr></table>

                <!-- /main -->

                  also, for right column layouts you need to remove these two blocks from your showthread template:

                  Code:
                  <!-- End content area table (CREATED IN HEADER!!) -->
                  	</td>
                  </tr>
                  </table>
                  and

                  Code:
                  <!-- restart content table from header -->
                  <table cellpadding="10" cellspacing="0" border="0" width="{tablewidth}" bgcolor="{pagebgcolor}" align="center">
                  <tr>
                      <td>
                  currently your thread pages look like your forumhome does right now... with the right column at the bottom. this should fix that.

                        yack, that's all jacked. you should save your current forumhome to a txt file and then revert it back and rehack it using your old html as a reference. at this point it's better to start with a known good layout and go from there.
