I use a https (secure sockets) connection when accessing the admin area of vBulletin.
In addition, I also you htpasswd to protect that directory.
As a result of the https connection, I am sometimes prompted for the admin password again when I do some actions and in the end can not do them.
I suspect that you are using some hardcoded "http" url's in the links of pages that are returned instead of realative links.
The one that recently gave us a problem is deleting someone's avatar.
Could you please look into this so that I can use a secure connection when accessing this area?
Thanks,
Steve
