  • DB Error - Please help!

    This morning I had 6 db error e-mails from my boards in my inbox.

    The first two were:

    Database error in vBulletin :

    Link-ID == false, connect failed
    mysql error: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)

    mysql error number: 2002

    Date: Monday 07th of January 2002 01:08:04 AM
    Script: /
    Referer:
    Which I think is a MySQL connection problem.

    Both the db errors were the same, just with a few seconds difference in time.

    The other four were:

    Database error in vBulletin 2.2.1:

    Invalid SQL: SELECT COUNT(*) AS threads
    FROM thread,subscribethread
    WHERE subscribethread.threadid=thread.threadid
    AND subscribethread.userid='16'
    AND thread.visible=1 AND lastpost >= 1007810110 AND
    thread.postuserid<> AND thread.postuserid<>162
    mysql error: You have an error in your SQL syntax near 'AND thread.postuserid<>162' at line 5

    mysql error number: 1064

    Date: Monday 07th of January 2002 06:15:10 AM

    The same userid came up in all four errors....just the times were a few minutes different.

    My boards have been running fine for a couple of weeks now, since I first installed vB (imported UBB 6.05) and corrected a re-occuring db error....that I found the fix to on these boards.

    I haven't made any modifications recently (more than a week or two)

    My host is HostRocket, and they've had pretty good uptime lately, but I suspect that the first two errors were caused by them...is this correct?

    Any help I could get would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    - Omar

    Close your forum and upload "extra/repair.php" to your admin forum directory and use it.
    It would help you

      repair.php won't help this is a server/mysql problem and you need to contact your host to fix it

        So is that second error something that will fix itself if the host gets MySQL running reliably again?

        Or is it something specific that I need to inform them to fix?

        As I said, I haven't had this error before. And I also haven't had this error since.

        Thanks again for your help.
