  • Backup Problem - Settings not saved

Backing up to file on server doesn't carry the selections of what to backup.

I told it not to backup the post table, and then hit Save to file on server, and it still tried to save the post table.

The "Save data to file on server" item saves a whole backup. The only way to save certain tables is to download it to your computer.

Is there any way this could be changed? Because the script timesout even when saving to the server.

I suggest you save it one table at a time using the save to hard drive option. Either that or use phpMyAdmin to make a backup in chunks to the server.

Or use Telnet...or ask your host to make a backup for you.

Telnet isn't possible...getting the host to do it would take FOREVER(hey, its gamespy we're dealing with.. ), and the post table is too big to be saved to my HD, even by itself. I tried and it only made it through about 80,000 of 90,000 posts.
