    hello,

    i have massiv problems with our vbulletinboard 2.2.1.. only 35 users can surf simultan on my board. my provider says the board has 80% cpu usage !!!

    would need more info

    1. what kind of server specs are you on ? dedicated or virtual hosting ?
    2. Red hat linux, Windows etc ?
    3. cpu, memory, hard drive type scsi/eide ?
    4. apache, php and mysql versions ?
    5. vB settings, gzip enabled ??? what level is gzip set at ?
    6. how many average users, peak users on vB ?
    7. other sites and scripts installed on your site account/server ?

      35 users is a fair figure for a shared host - don't forget there may be tens or hundreds of other users on the server. Imagine what would happen if they all had forums with 35 users online.

      The next step up is either a 'semi dedicated' solution or a dedicated server.

        35 may be standard but 80% CPU usage is not.

            True Kevin - though that figure is possibly for the whole server rather than just for one user.
