  • Upload problem

I looked here around for any tip but didn't found anything:
The uploads are stored in the 'attachment' table of the DB: how could I extract them to a FTP dir and replace the link to the attachment.php with one to the FTP url ? .

Simply, I would use a particular forum (the only in which attachments are permitted) as an Upload directory; later, after (or during) the attachment moderation, I would REMOVE them from MySQL DB (only the attachments, not also the message) and put into a FTP dir of the site... Better could be modifying the message with a link to the ftp url of file, so I can mantain a light database....
May I for example leave the uploads in the /home/user/tmp directory even afther the insertion into DB ?

If useful, follows some specification: I'm running on Linux (shared) server:

    /home/user/tmp CHMODed 777

Safe mode should be off because when asking for Php Info i got :
    auto_append_file no value
    auto_prepend_file no value
    expose_php On
    file_uploads 1
    open_basedir no value
    post_max_size 8M
    safe_mode Off
    safe_mode_exec_dir 1
    sendmail_from no value
    sendmail_path /usr/sbin/sendmail -t -i
    short_open_tag On
    sql.safe_mode Off
    upload_max_filesize 2M
    upload_tmp_dir no value
    user_dir no value

    What can I do ?
How could I - in case - modify any of these php options on the shared server ?

    Thanks a lot.
