    6. Error msg is Server Hangup

I was adjusting the date/time format. Tried the r format in date without changing the time. After trying to change date format back to previous setting I started getting the server hangup message.

      http://www.homebased2.com/forums/index.php

for me sometimes the initial screen will come up and sometime I just get the screen that says

      Server Hangup

      Description: Server Hangup

That's the only error message I get and I get it when trying to get to the control panel. I normally have to enter password before I get the server hangup message.

I have tried running repair.php No deal, can't get past the password entry.

      Thanks,
      Rick

looks like your dns is down or incorrectly configured.. i get 'Cannot find server or DNS Error'

who's your web host ? do you have virtual or dedicated server?

i'd contact your web host and say you're getting

Cannot find server or DNS Error messages

Yes, but that's not my problem. I can click on http://www.homebased2.com/ and go right to the site.

I can sometimes click on http://www.homebased2.com/forums/index.php and get the initial screen with even the correct time at the bottom. When I try to go further than that, I get the screen with "Server Hangup".

I was adjusting date/time options at the time everything went sour. I had just changed the date option to 'r' decided I didn't like the looks and was trying to change it back to 'jS M Y' but when I tried to enter the change I got the "Server Hangup" message and have been stuck with it ever since.

Any chance the db got messed up from me trying to change the options?

I had just upgraded to the latest version on 5 Dec.

          Thanks

              My web host is http://www.wyenet.com/

Since nobody know what the problem is with "Server Hangup" what do I need to do to reinstall vBulletin and restore the message base from a mysqldump?

Or is there a way to run repair.php without it having to go thru the Control Panel?

Or another way to try and repair db?

Of course I am just assumeing its db related until some other proof pops up.

              Thanks again,
              Ricks

You don't run reapir.php from the control panel. Upload it to your forums directory and run it from your browser.

Older versions of MySQL need myisamchk (?) but this require root access to run.

                Good luck

I tried running repair.php from the browser. As I recall it ask for ID and password. After entering the info I again got the "Server Hangup" message.

Thanks for the manual link. I may need that in the very near future.
