  • wrong error message if member clicks activation link second time

I've had several inquiries from members that say they can't activate their accounts, but their status shows registered. So I tested it out on 3 forums (2 in action and 1 test forum).

When the activation letter comes and I click the link, it gives me the proper message and I'm in. But if I click the link a second time it gives me this:

We could not activate your account because this web address is not valid. Make sure that you have the entire address from the email, and that your email client has not split the address over several lines.

Please try again with the full address from the email that you received. If it still does not work, try filling in the activation form:
    Activation form

If you do not know your activation code, you can find it in the email that was sent to you when you first registered. To have it sent again, please click here:
Send new email with activation code.

If all else fails, email the administrator, making sure that you include your registered email address and username.
This is confusing for the members if they are not aware that they have already activated their accounts. This also happens when they try to activate after changing their email addresses.

The template that produces this message is error_invalidactivateid. If I were to change the template to say thanks for activating their accounts, what would I be losing? Would I actually need the original text for something else?
