  • It seems that vB suddenly dropped size after last night crash

    Hello,
Last night my server crashed and it had some bad sector in two partitions. We managed to "fix" them and get the server working again. After it was up, Using phpMyAdmin I Checked, repair, analyzed and optimized all vB tables. Some of them had "Overhead", but it was fixed when the optimization was done. I'm not sure the size of the table before the crash, but I think it was bigger than what is now. Although the number of records seems fine and no change at all. Is only the DB size that worries me. But the vB is working fine. Any idea?

Optimizing usually reduces the size of the database, as is implied by it's name.

So it's totally normal and safe to do this?

Absolutely optimizing your database is fine.
