    Password trouble - vb 2.20

    Hi,

I have a problem with some users (two people so far). On my board, once people confirm their email is valid, I have to validate them manually and email them a welcome message.
On the welcome message, there are the username and password.
It seems the password is too long for the password field?

Here are the two emails I got:
    1) "Thank you very much for letting me know the password. This morning, I tried to log in Forum but it didn't work. First, I copied the password and pasted it, resulted as "Wrong password". Then, I started typing 1 letter by 1 letter, and the window didn't have enough space for me to continue typing the password. Will you please check and advise what I need to do?
    Thank you and best regards"
    2) "Your login details are as follows:
    Username: xxxxxxx
    Password: dd5287ef0c24f2684a118848668a73a7
I tried this but it didn't seem to work.
    Says "wrong password."
Also tried to reset ... no dice.
    Can you help?"

Any reply is welcome. Thank you.

You cannot mail people passwords from within vBulletin any more. The password in the database is MD5 encrypted - not plain text.

The lost password stuff has all changed to email a link now. You must have templates that have not been reverted.

I reverted the template email_validated and it is like before here. Should it be different?
        Thank you.

The template you need to revert seems to be email_lostpw.

I did not modify "email_lostpw" so it was updated to 2.20 fine and I finally found the problem at http://vbulletin.com/forum/showthrea...ight=encrypted
It seems "email_validated" template was forgotten to be updated on vb 2.20 version. Instead of putting the link from the "email_lostpw" template you mentioned, it still has the not used anymore (?) "$password".
