  • Google etc. and switching from php3 to php

    This may be a dumb question, but if I go from my .php3 extentions to .php with the v2.2 upgrade, how am I going to keep the links from the search engines active?

    Am I right in thinking that the links will go to a page not found error? Or is there a redirect that I am missing here?

    It probably will come up page not found...

    Make a redirect file

    It will go something like this:

    <?php
    echo "<title>Redirecting...</title>";
    echo "<meta http-equiv="Refresh" content="1; URL=index.php">";
    ?>

      Thanks for the reply. With that being the case, what is the dissadvantage of me staying on .php3 extentions until vBulletin quits providing them?

      I guess part II of this line of thought is also how long will vBulletin keep up the .php3 extentions?
