  • Trouble Changing Time

I just purchased the product and have it installed no problem. I am trying to change the time displayed from GMT to ET and I make the change in the CP but the boards are still five hours off and say the following:

    All times are GMT.

    Ideas?

Go to your User CP and to Edit Options. Find the time offset option and change it to where you are.

If you server is not located in the Eastern time zone the time will still be wrong. You will then need to find out where your server is, and adjust the time offset in the Admin CP accordingly.

I have tried that. My server is in Denver, CO yet when telneting in I get the following time:

      19:19:43

Which would be contistent with GMT -9 correct?

Regardless of what option I select the forum remainds incorrect

Also from the CP menu what is the best way to get back there. Whatever I go it to edit opens to a full screen and there is no navigation to go back to the main CP page?

Try putting the Admin CP option at -6 and your User CP option at -5. See if that works out.

The edit options screen should not open in a new window - what browser are you using?

That did the trick. I did it at -5 in both locations and it is fine. It is late and I never thought about my options as a user, I was only thinking fro the admin side

As for my browser I am using IE 5.5 SP2 and it does not open a new window, I was wondering if it should as when I edit anything and save it there is no navigation to get back.

For instance when adding forums there is nothing to go back to the main CP and the same when I changed the time, it just said "Thanks for updating the options." and I have to keep using the [BACK] button in my browser.

No big deal, just thought there would be some header or footer to ease navigation.

Your browser is freaking out and you are losing the left column. I used to have that happen sometimes on my Windows 2000 machine with IE 5.5. It would always come back if I rebooted. It stopped happening when I upgraded that machine to IE 6. I've never had the problem on my Windows ME machine.

So then the left frame should remain intact throughout the CP? That is what I expected but it wasn't happening. I'll reboot and see if it clears it up. I can manage by doing the [BACK] thing, I figured something had to be going on.
