This has happened to me as well on many forums, although with no visible pattern.
I doubt it's a vBulletin issue, I'm thinking more of cookies making fun of us, although it could be something with vB.

Anyhow, is this happening to you -all- the time, or just every once in a while?
Can you provide a test account for your forum, so we can check this?

        I'm using IE 5.5, Windows 2000.

Did you try using another agent, or changing the settings of IE?

This happens occasionally when a cookie becomes corrupted. You'll need to manually remove the cookies for your forums from IE.

OK, I'm having this problem and was so excited to find this thread....

How do I delete the damaged cookie? I trashed the entire temporary Internet Files folder and it still keeps me logged in as the wrong user.

                Tnx,

                  It's in the cookies folder.

                  In Windows ME/98/96/etc. it's Windows/cookies.
In Windows NT 4/5/etc. it's in Documents and Settings\username\Cookies.
