  • I've been hacked Please help fast

This is unbelievable, someone has hacked my VB Forum and taken away my admin status. Someone please help me fast. I backed up on the 22nd, but I don't even know how to install a backup. I would rather just find away to get my admin status back.

I'm asking for some knowledgeable VB expert to help me fast.

    Thanks in advance.

Do you have myphpadmin or telnet access to your mySQL server? If so use that and you can reset your password. Just look in the table user for your admin name. If you're not around anymore, add a new row with your info and make sure that the groupid is set to 6.

getadmin.php is in the extras folder when you download vB.

upload it to the admin directory of the forums. then run it from your web browser. this will tell you the admin acct on the forums. then you can use it to log into your control panel and re-setup your old acct as admin again.

if you are successful you should change your password me thinks.

exactly. once you upload the file through ftp go and open your browser and go to the file with an address:

                          http://www.domain.com/forums/admin/getadmin.php

(using whatever domain and directories you have setup)
