  • ! How do I manage the users who are 'awaiting email confirmation'?

    Hello everyone,

    As a moderator I have the same rights as our webmaster. I have an urgent question:

    On our board there are some users who have not registered properly and therefor are still in the group 'users awaiting email confirmation'.

    What can I do about this?

    1. Send those people an email to urge them to follow the instruction in the mail (see below) they received upon registering:

    That would solve it.
    But....what to do if those people have deleted this mail??? Is there a way I can send this mail again to this users? I can only find a option to mail the password.

    2. Instead of sending a mail I can change the usergroup of all these users from 'users awaiting email confirmation' to 'registered'. That would solve it too?

    3. I would like to know what this email-confirmation is intended for. To prevent others to register under a false, or someone else's email-adress? What happens now, if the users lost the mail mentioned above and I add them manually to the 'registered'-group?

    What can I do best?

    I haven't purchased VBulletin personally yet, but I am very impressed with the product and with the support that comes with it so I'm planning to order a copy myself at the end of this year. I'll hope that someone can help me out on this one, even if I don't own a copy myself yet?

    1: Im sure you can, but I don't know how.

    2: Yes, all you would do is change their status to registered and it will work fine.

    3: It is turned off or on by your admin. It is in case admins want to make sure that the emails they put in their profiles are real, and not fake.
