  • vbulletin.style & adding 'Default' templates and catagories

    Basically the topic says it all.

    I have about 20 templates i wish to make default under every template set.

    But, i have 'index page' templates, how would i make it sort into a group of 'index templates', like the postbit catagory?

    Thanks!

    Maybe Khear might help

    In template.php find this
    PHP Code:
      $only['calendar'] = 'Calendar';

    $only['emailsubject'] = 'Email Subject';

    $only['email'] = 'Email';

    $only['error'] = 'Error Message'
    You'll see lots more of these there.
    These are the categories.

    Explanation:
    Code:
    $only['[color=red]keyword[/color]'] = '[color=red]Title[/color]';
    The keyword is for grouping the templates.
    All templates that are named "keyword_xxx" will be grouped under this category.
    The Title is just the name, for the keyword category it'll say "Title Templates".

    That's how you add categories.

    As for making custom templates default, you will need to add them to the vbulletin.syle.
    But keep in mind that whenever upgrading, those new templates will be overwritten.
    The safest thing to do if you don't want to lose the templates is to have a good backup of the whole style.

      also keep in mind that if you overwrite the default vb templates you won't have a reference to troubleshoot possible template problems. you would have to upload the vbulletin.style in the style uploader to see the default templates again. it's just a few extra steps but it may be a pain and has potential to get you into trouble.

          I strongly recommend against editing the vbulletin.style file. If you make a mistake you will make your board inoperable.

              You could but all of your changes would be lost. You will also lose them every time a new upgrade is available.

              Seems like a lot of wasted work.

                Changes are as in changes the vB team make to templates?

                Can i just not use comparing software each time we get a new vbulletin.style and like make the changes to my one as the changes they make?
