VB http link not working

Hi there, I have asked for the http:// vbcode to be added to a section of a posting. It asks for the text and the url and embeds what seem to be a correct URL.

However, when I try and look at this link in a message, the url is expanded in the following manner:

http://<bburl>/admin//"<original url i typed>/"

Any ideas why this would be happening?

Looking at the source to the page returned when I am viewing, the original url has a prefix of

../../chat/admin/

so that the original http://www.fatlasdbasketball.co.uk/directions.html

becomes

../../chat/admin//"http://www.fatladsbasetball.co.uk/directions.html/"

confused. I sure am.

When doing links with vB Code (and normal HTML) you have to specify the full http:// as well as the actual domain. From your post it is unclear if you're already doing this or not.

yes, I gave the original URL of http:// etc. etc.

which resolves the the correct address from here, but not on my installation of vbulletin.

Have you or anyone else edited the URL bbcode in the Admin CP?

James: You don't have to put in the http:// - the system does that for you.

The bburl is still defined as:
http://www.fatladsbasketball.co.uk/chat

Where would bbcode be amended on the control panel?

Not bburl - under bbcodes > Modify, have you changed anything about the [url] one?

Alternatively if you PM me with an admin login I can take a look.

I have copied a SQL dump of my database to another server (local). The symptom is still the same with links resolving to exactly the same directory hierarchy.

Try reuploading functions.php and make sure it is in ASCII mode.

I downloaded the 2.03 zip file once more and transferred unzip'd files to my servers - the transfer was done using Dreamweaver - it seems to have done the trick.
