Password-protected Forum?

i could need some help here.

how do i set up a forum, which is only accessible by members who know a certain password?

Like an admin-forum, but for all registered member with the password.

Well, if you made a search through the forums you would have seen that this was asked already several times. And it's not possible (yet).

I thought there was a feature or hack for private forums? IE one restricted to dealers and not the general users/consumers in the forums?

Damn. This is something I absolutely need. I'll search through the password-access threads again.

Private forums have always been possible...at the moment, however, having password-protected forums is not possible without hacking.
They need to be protected via usergroups/user access mask permissions instead.

ARGH! Now I remember back in the spring, reading threads about this. Phew.
