how can i add my own header?

    i need something like http://www.vbulletin.com

there is a header with buttons home|community|members|..

and also in the forums, there is a header and buttons (user cp| register|calender|....

Do you have to add the header in every page with php? or just make the header in a seperate page and include it everytime?

    please help

    thanks

Control Panel -> Templates -> Edit -> Default -> [expand list] -> header -> [edit]

you can completely customize the header of every page on your forums by editing this template... assuming you know how to code html. custom images can be put into the header by modifying the img src tags and uploading the images to the appropriate directory on your web space.

what about non-vB pages, can i do the same, i mean doing one $header and call it everytime in non-vB pages? instead of putting it in every page?

      Thanks

yes, you can do that. (and that's where my knowledge ends )

bottom line: at that point you are trying to do something that vBulletin cannot officially support. vBulletin is forum software, not a nuke or portal. you might try http://www.phpportals.com/index.php . vBPortal is a portal hack for vBulletin. i have a test implementation of vBPortal up on my test server (hosted by http://www.f5hosting.com/ ). my test portal is at http://130.94.169.149/forum/index.php

you can find info about vBPortal at the above link and in the hacks forum on this site.

        hope this helps.
