  • Output Buffering with VBB ?

    Hiya !

    I am no Linux and surely now PHP specialist, but I managed my PHP Nuke doing the transfer now compressed, if the browser supports this
    Just very easy with PHP 4.0.4 or newer:

    if (!isset($mainfile))
    {
    ob_start ("ob_gzhandler");
    }

    This lines in the second line of the mainfile.php will speed up your PHP Nuke, the server CPU usage will increase, but everything will be still faster !

    Yes, and now I am interessted:
    Is there a simple way to do the same with VBB ?
    Using the Output Buffering ?

    vB has built in compression with zLib -- just enable it in your CP and watch download times plummet.

        Setting the level at 1 will provide the most benefit vs. performance. It compresses up to 90%, whereas from 1 to 2, 2 to 3, etc. provide only single-digit gains (about 1 to 2% per level max usually). It is highly recommended that you don't set it at anything besides 1.
