  • Avatar not uploading/displaying correctly

    I have seen multiple posts on your pages regarding this issue but nothing exactly like the issue I am having.

    Win2k SP2
    Apache 1.3.19 Shortly will be going to 1.3.20
    MySQL 3.23.29
    php 4.0.6
    vbulletin 2.0.1

    I am able to upload avatars in the admin section with the following information:

    file: c:\win95\desktop\pic.bmp
    name: asdf
    min. posts: 0

    Now the path to the image is what I am having problems with. If I put in the absolute path as it states I should for ex:

    It uploads the file correctly and places it where it needs to go BUT, when it then goes to display the avatar, it shows the red "X"(image not found). Now if you view source on the page it says this is the path to the image:
    <IMG src="../d:/apache/webpages/forums/images/">

    Now if you go back to modify the image and edit the path and put in the full URL of the image file, it works with no problem.

    This is the only way I have been able to successfully upload avatars and none of my users are able to upload them at all via the user profile avatar section.

    I have done the $GLOBALS fix that was listed by Ed in previous posts but that appears to be restricted to attachments.

    I hope I have provided enough specific information and hope to hear a reply soon....

    I have to say, it's *much* easier to upload the avatars yourself (through FTP) and then "mass add" them (it's in the "add" section).

      I would agree, and that is a nice workaround, but I am hoping this is one of the things to be fixed in the 2.0.2 release. If not do you have any suggestions on how I could go about fixing this.
