when I choose my style in my user cp it only shows for the forum home how can I make it show for the whole vB???????

Is this a forum in which you're the Admin? The chosen style should alsways show unless the Admin has chosen 'yes' to 'Override users custom styles' in Forums -> Modify -> Edit.Steve Machol, former vBulletin Customer Support Manager (and NOT retired!)
