    You can replace the index.php with the following syntax
    __________________________________________________
    <?php

    header ("Location: http://www.yourserver.com"); /* Redirect browser
    to PHP web site */
    exit; /* Make sure that code below does
    not get executed when we redirect. */
    ?>
    ___________________________________________________

    You can also redirect to another Folder or File

    ..... Location: http://www.yourserver.com/yourfolder/"); /
    ..... Location: http://www.yourserver.com/yourfolder/yourfile.oho"); /

    You could put the html into the .php and that'd be fine. php files are just html files, with blocks of php code inside <? ?> tags. Without any <? ?> tags, it's just plain jane html.

    So, could you also put this code in the index.php file? I'm not sure what you can/can't put in PHP code. Most of my users have the index.php file bookmarked. If I just replace index.php with index.html, that's going to cause some 'file not found' messages I would assume.

    I have gotten around this by using a META redirect, but would like a better solution as described above if it will work.

    Thanks.

    Very simple html:

    Code:
    <html>
    <head>
    <title>Your site - we have moved</title>
    <meta http-equiv="Refresh" content="2; URL=new URL">
    </head>
    <body your values>
      <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><b><font size="6">We have moved to a new server!<br>
    If the script doesn't load the new page click<a href="new URL">HERE</a>!</font></b></font></p>
      </body>
    </html>
    Change of course the title, new URL and your body tags!

    <?php

    header ("Location: http://www.php.net"); /* Redirect browser
    to PHP web site */
    exit; /* Make sure that code below does
    not get executed when we redirect. */
    ?>

    Redirect from existing 1.1.6 vb to 2.0.1

    Yeah!!!! We're finally ready to upgrade both our server and vb to 2.0.1!!!!! It's been a long road, but looks like we're ready finally!

    What I need is some sort of redirect script to point users off the old server (vb 1.1.6) to the new server (vb 2.0.1) I found one here for UBB to vb when we upgraded back in February which worked great. Basically just looking for something that displays a page (we've moved, here's the new URL) and directs them in 2 seconds.

    Does anyone out there have anything like this?

    Thanks in advance!!!
