  • Avatars........../Server Safe mode!

    HI!

I've read a bit in this forum and saw that the using/uploading od avatars in safe mode isn't avaible!

    But now:

How can I check, if my server runs in safe mode or not???

I tryed all the time to upload an avator, but it always says an error in avatars.php in line 33 !!

    My system:

    PHP - newest
    MySQL - newest!

    (f2s.com)

    thx alot!

    Two things.

First, AFAIK, f2s is not running the latest versions of PHP and MySQL. Go to mysite.com/forums/admin/index.php?action=phpinfo and post the numbers it reports for the PHP and MySQL versions. It will also tell you if you are running in safe mode (look for safe_mode).
Second, f2s might not allow file uploading.

      PHP Version 4.0.4pl1

      uploading is supported I think!

(Do you know another webspace prvider with mysql and PHP 4 free?) *g*

OK, would be nice when U help me!

As I suspected, they are not running anything resembling the latest version. (The latest PHP is 4.0.5 and the latest MySQL is 3.23.38. Also both of your versions are betas (pl is a beta AFAIK).)

        Did you look for safe_mode?

why would you pay so much money just to host it on a free server?

My other webspace provider isn't avaible yet!

Thats because I did upload the forum to f2s.com for the breakdown time!

safe_mode was..... off in first collapse and off in second!

by the way: perhaps U know it:

is it possible to run more than 1 board on a webserver?
Cause I've an webserver running, but there is one board on
            (not vbulletin) *g*

I just have to make a new database, correct???

            thx
            4 that!

You can only have one database on F2S AFAIK.
On another host that allows more than one database, assuming this other board uses a MySQL database, just create a new database for vBulletin.
