Database error in vBulletin: Link-ID == false, connect failed

ive been encountering errors like this for the past few hours. how do i eliminate this problem? i've called my host and they've told me that there has been performance problems with the server where im hosted due to server load.

will turning off the pconnection in config.php help?

It might, but I'd wait to see what they decide to do with the server. If the server is having problems, changing a setting in your Forums may not help the situation any if the hardware is about to fail. Just my two cents.
