  • how to activate custom templates ?

    hi
    there is a option "add coustum templates" in admin-CP,
    but it is realy necesserary to make a "hack" to make them work ??

    as a read in this forum I have to add:
    *****************************
    Find this in global.php:

    PHP:
    eval("\$headinclude = \"".gettemplate('headinclude')."\";");

    (towards the bottom)

    and add this under it:

    PHP:
    eval("\$sponsorship_banner = \"".gettemplate('sponsorship_banner')."\";");
    *************
    @developers
    btw. it would be a good improvement to add a option
    to activate custom templates via CP, with the option in which template it should work for vbbulletin 2.1

    -sorry if I am wrong and this feature is already included ..
    ----------

    PLEASE can somebody help me with my c-template:

    I want to add a c-template $header_long for forumdisplay
    and a $header_short for all sub-forms of a forum ..

    sorry about my english I hope you understand my problem,
    once more in a short form:

    I want a long headertext in my mainforum-page (forumdisplay)and a short form of the header text for my sub-forumpages
    (showthread etc.)

    do I, and where do I have to add a line like this:
    ---------
    eval("\$header_short= \"".gettemplate('header_shorttext)."\";");
    ---------
    eval("\$header_long= \"".gettemplate('header_longtext)."\";");
    ---------

    thx

    hi

    ok I tried out that changes on a test board
    it seems to work, but I am not shure if it's quite ok
    because I had to to make a lot of tries ...

    custom temlates
    -----------------------
    header_short
    header_long

    vars in templates:
    -----------------------
    $header_short
    $header_long

    line: 231 in global.php in root-dir
    -------------------------------------------------------
    $header='';
    $footer='';
    // parse header ##################
    eval(gettemplate('phpinclude',0,0));
    eval("\$header_short = \"".gettemplate('header_short')."\";");
    eval("\$header_long = \"".gettemplate('header_long')."\";");
    // parse css ################## not really needed!
    eval("\$headinclude = \"".gettemplate('headinclude')."\";");
    -------------------------------------------------------

    please can somebody help me, I am really afraid to test that
    on a running board with over 5000 members ..
