Decyphering attachment error e-mail

A user of mine recently tried to attach a couple images to his post, and received a database error. An e-mail was sent to me from VBulletin, which is attached to this post.

Just wondering what the cause of this may be. Thanks in advance.

It means the MySQL connection was terminated for some reason. My hunch is that he was trying to upload a file bigger than the maximum allowed in the mysql and/or PHP configuration files.

I don't administer the server my forums are hosted on. Would you happen to know which settings would need tweaked for this not to occur anymore?
