referrer system activated but not working on 2.0.0

I have activated the referrer system in my control panel.

I used the propper link (...index.php?referrerid=1)

But it doesn't update/show me any referrals.

If I use a non-excistant userid (for e.g. 12000) it does not show up the errormessage in template : error_badreferrer

What is the problem? Please help...

As per the referral section in the FAQ: "Each time someone follows this link to [your site name] and registers as a new member, your referral count will be incremented by one."

Did the person you refer to your Forums register?

It will only show the error message if someone tries to register and they have followed a link with a non-existent referrer ID or entered a non-existent username in the referrer box on the registration page.

To receive a referral credit, the person must register.
