  • Removing some options

    I want to remove some of the choices in peoples profile:

    Invisible on 'Online users' list
    Receive PMs
    PM Popup

    I want to make both of these stay on Yes, and not allow the members to change this. I guess I go into some file and delete something? However PM Popup and Receive PMs is set to 'no' unless changed, so if I deleted the option it would stay that way?

    I also want to make it so that people have a straight drop down menu for avatars, rather than clicking on a button. This way they have to have one (we are having team logos and I want them to choose the team they support)????????

    Thanks

    It is perfectly fine to edit these things as you suggested, you'll just have to manully edit your templates. They're just regular HTML.

      For an example of how to do this view the source of the register template at SPF...

        OK thanks. Don't I have to change the profile one as well since they can edit it there.

            Okay that was pretty easy but the only problem I had was with the PM Popup option because the default setting for this is no, so if I delete it, it will be set to no, but we want it set to yes by default, I know you can change it via the HTML to check the yes option but as we are deleting it, so that doesn't help.

            So how do I do it

              Obviously you didn't look at the source code of the template. You shouldn't be deleting any of the options. You should make them hidden form fields and assign the value you want to them.

              From the bottom of my register_adult template:
              Code:
              <input type="hidden" name="vbcode" value="yes">
              <input type="hidden" name="showsignatures" value="yes">
              <input type="hidden" name="showavatars" value="yes">
              <input type="hidden" name="showimages" value="yes">
              <input type="hidden" name="showdescriptions" value="yes">
              <input type="hidden" name="linkdisplay" value="both">
              <input type="hidden" name="allowmail" value="yes">
              <input type="hidden" name="invisible" value="no">
              <input type="hidden" name="showemail" value="no">
              <input type="hidden" name="nosessionhash" value="yes">
              <input type="hidden" name="receivepm" value="yes">
              <input type="hidden" name="emailonpm"value="no">
              <input type="hidden" name="pmpopup" value="yes">
