How come whenever you search for something on my site's forums nothing comes up?

Go to the CP and under "maintenence" click "update counters" In there, rebuild your search index. This is what I had to do when my search stopped working. As soon as I rebuilt the search index, it worked like a charm!

    Hope this helped.

Empty and rebuild the search index. Reupload RC2's search.php.

If that doesn't work, I'll need direct db access.

              Didn't fix it

              What info do you need?

              Telnet and MySQL DB info?

                phpMyAdmin access would be enough.

                    Same issue

                    I get this message:

There seems to have been a slight problem with the database. Please try again by pressing the refresh button in your browser.

An E-Mail has been dispatched to our Technical Staff, who you can also contact if the problem persists.

                    We apologise for any inconvenience.
                    =============

What can I do about this?

datman can you show us what the e-mail you received says?

(although my guess is that it will tell you you lost connection to MySQL).

You might want to try running the reindexing in smaller cycles (less posts per cycle).

                        Bira

Now I have a new issue...

I was able to complete the re-index, by lowering the "Number of threads to do per cycle:
" count from 100 to 15 - but now when I do a key word search ....nothing is ever found. I cant even pull up any searches for the words, LOVE or LIFE.

                        This is what I get:

Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms.

It's what you do when no one replies to your post and it fanishes from site, you have to post on it so people see it.
