  • how do i manually create a table?

    When I try to delete messages, this is the message I get

    Database error in vBulletin: Invalid SQL: DELETE FROM pollvote WHERE pollid='0'
    mysql error: Table 'afterabortion.pollvote' doesn't exist
    mysql error number: 1146
    Date: Saturday 21st of April 2001 02:37:26 PM
    Script: /forums/postings.php
    Referer: http://www.afterabortion.com/forums...ead&threadid=35

    So wayne said:
    That error was when it was trying to create that table.

    You will need to create that table manually using either PHPMyAdmin or MySQL's command line interface. The code can be found in install1.php as to what the table should look like.

    **And my question is - I don't know how to do this - I am new to php and mysql - can anyone tell me exactly how and where to create this table manually?
    thanks

    You execute this from the mysql command prompt or from phpmyadmin.

    The problem is you may have other missing tables but you can fix this problem and see what happens next.
    Code:
    CREATE TABLE pollvote (
       pollvoteid int(10) unsigned DEFAULT '0' NOT NULL auto_increment,
       pollid int(10) unsigned DEFAULT '0' NOT NULL,
       userid int(10) unsigned DEFAULT '0' NOT NULL,
       votedate int(10) unsigned,
       voteoption int(10) unsigned DEFAULT '0' NOT NULL,
       PRIMARY KEY (pollvoteid),
       KEY userid (userid, pollid));

            ok, another question

            how do i get to the command line of mysql? And then what exactly do I type? Just cut and paste this into the command line?

            CREATE TABLE pollvote (
            pollvoteid int(10) unsigned DEFAULT '0' NOT NULL auto_increment,
            pollid int(10) unsigned DEFAULT '0' NOT NULL,
            userid int(10) unsigned DEFAULT '0' NOT NULL, votedate int(10) unsigned,
            voteoption int(10) unsigned DEFAULT '0' NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (pollvoteid),
            KEY userid (userid, pollid));

              Using SSH access your site and type:
              mysql -uUSERNAME -pPASSWORD at the prompt.

              Either copy and paste the above at the next prompt or retype it.

                thanks for being so patient with me...

                had to say that before i asked this *grin*
                how do I get SSH access?
                I am using windows98, so I am assuming I would go to programs > run > then type in something to get to my SSH at my site? something in my brain makes me think it's secure shell something.. arrgh, that unix class was a while ago....

                  SSH is a secure form of Telnet. It is the recommended way to connect to your host directly.
