  • Can someone answer this for me?

While trying to view my forums today, I revieved this error:

Warning: Too many connections in ./admin/db_mysql.php3 on line 50

Can someone tell me what the problem might be? Does it mean that to many people are trying to log into the forums?

    Thanks,

    Flagg

There are too many connections to the mySQL server. Talk to your host.

Also, in your config.php you can set persistant connections to "0", that way it doesn't maintain a connection for the entire session of a user. Instead it establishes a new connection for every query or whatever. I've heard this can slow down your forums but I haven't noticed it slowing down at all when I changed this setting. Changing this will reduce or eliminate the instances of this error depending on what your server capacity is.

And of course, talk to your host as well.
