  • user's name showing up twice in $activeusers

    a few of my members have advised me recently that their name is showing up twice in the list. when the problem occurs their user name is always first and then show up again. If you mouse-over their name (shown as first on list) it shows a user id of someone else.

    I have hacked code to exclude "waiting for email confirmation" users.

    here's my code...

    any ideas why this might be happening?

    PHP Code:
    $loggedins=$DB_site->query("SELECT DISTINCT session.userid,username,invisible,usergroupid
                                FROM session
                                LEFT JOIN user ON (user.userid=session.userid)
         WHERE user.usergroupid <> 3 AND user.usergroupid <> 4 AND session.userid>0 AND session.lastactivity>
    $datecut
                                ORDER BY invisible ASC, username ASC"
    );

    Where is that code coming from? Did you modify any of the vB files? Which version are you running?

      2.2.9 and the code was modofied by myself from the standard code here:

      PHP Code:
       // original code
      //  $loggedins=$DB_site->query("SELECT DISTINCT session.userid,username,invisible,usergroupid
      //                              FROM session
      //                              LEFT JOIN user ON (user.userid=session.userid)
      //                              WHERE session.userid>0 AND session.lastactivity>$datecut
      //                         ORDER BY invisible ASC, username ASC");

        Reupload the original file to fix this.

        Also you should upgrade to at least 2.3.6. Theere are serious security issues wioth 2.2.9.
