  • Adding a template -- help please

Hello. Sorry if this isn't an appropriate question for this forum.

I have figured out how to add a new template and I have figured out how to call that template from another template. But I can't figure out how would I can call that template as a page all by itself?

For example, if I create a new template called "memberinfo1" and I want to display it, what URL would I use to do that?

[If the answer is that "this requires hacking go to vbulletin.org" (Unfortunately, the answer to most of my questiosn), let me then ask about a way that I might be able to do it without hacking:

What I am trying to do is have one URL (ie member.php?u=10) that calls one type of member info template and another (perhaps: member.php?u1=10) that calls another memberinfo template.

If I created two new templates called memberinfo1 and meberinfo2. I could then place a conditional statement in the memberinfo template, which calls up either template based on the URL. The problem is, I don't know how to write a conditional statement based on what the URL is. Can someone help me with that.

    Much thanks

    Sam

    Hi there,

You have to make a custom php file and eval the template, so that does require custom code and that does require vBulletin.org .. sorry.

Here are some resources to get you started with vBulletin hacking:
