  • Making forums viewable to Admins and Moderators"user access masks must be on!"???

    Private forum
(Invisible to all except moderators and admins; user access masks must be on!)

What does that mean? I want only Moderators and admins to view it.

Its one forum to move old threads to, and another Report Center mod that I made a hyper link to, because I couldnt figure out another way.

But what does "user access masks must be on" mean?

    Thanks!

Another stupid question I cant figure out.

A private forum is a hardcoded varible in vB2, that will only show that forum to smods and admins. Use forum permissions instead.

It means this setting must be enabled:

Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> User and registration options -> Enable Access Masks?

Access masks are required to hide a private forum from view.

Access masks in vB2 are used for 2 things:
          1. Making private forums invisible.
          2. Managing user-level forum permissions.

Access masks are made optional because they add some overhead to a forum. If you don't use them then they can be turned off.
