    Database error in vBulletin 2.3.5:

Invalid SQL: SELECT COUNT(*) AS users,MAX(userid) AS max FROM user
mysql error: Can't open file: 'user.MYI'. (errno: 145)

    Thats what I got..

145 = Table was marked as crashed and should be repaired

You can select the table first and optimize it, then run repair. Repeat it a few times if needed.

It sometimes also helps if you run optimize first on all your tables, and then repair.

If you have shell access, you can run the optimize and repair functions from the shell, directly in mysql.

Does vBulletin give the db error, or phpmyadmin?

And I don't have shell access, I'll speak to my host about that.

Try optimize and repair through phpmyadmin.

Ok, I'm in my phpmyadmin now.

                Where do I go?

I know what I'm doing, I been with mysql for quite some time, just never did this before. lol.

You can select the [ ] checkbox in front of the table that gives the error, then browse down and from the drop down box select 'optimize' and let it run.
Then select it again and run repair.

It might require a few attempts, but that depends on how heavily it is crashed.

if this even fails, then I am afraid you have to repair it on the shell, or ask your hosting provider to do it as root for you.
