  • Is there a way to prune file attachments?

I am wondering, where are the files that are attached kept on the forum? In the database somewhere?

Is there some way to purge old files out?

Yes, it's stored in the database. They are deleted from the db when a) the message they are attached to is deleted or b) when the message they are attached to is edited and the attachment is removed.

    I don't believe there's a way to mass-purge attachments at this time.

OK thanks, I turned file attachment off for now then.

Here's hoping for that feature in the future!

There is a hack on vbulletin.org that allows you to do this.

It's by me. (Works quite well if I do say so myself. )

you can use phpMyAdmin to "empty" them.
