I'm not sure whether this setting is available in 2.x.x but in 3.x.x you can adjust the Search Index Maximum Word Length. If the maximum word length is set to 20 characters, for example, which may be too small to index long URLs, then a full or partial URL search won't return any results because the long URLs haven't been indexed in the database.

However, if the maximum length was 60 characters the amazon ID url may have been indexed in which case a partial search of the number 1275324-15 would have likely returned some results.

    Hello Steve,

    okay, that is one option.

But we need to have a possibility to search for such things just in time, when we have the suspicion.

    That is the point.

You can use replacement variables to block this URL or part of it. You can also use the Censor option to do the same thing.

Steve, can you please let a dev have an eye on this for a sec or so?

This is very, very important to us. Might not to seem so, but someone is causing quite a fuss on our site and thus we have to lock him down without to many changes to the db.

This time, we badly need support.

    Thanks,
    -Tom

Okay, this might be a good workaround.

Could you please state or confirm why we couldn't search for numbers in URLs?

Searching in URLs, too, is possible afaik.

    Thanks,
    -Tom

Just add his number to the censor list.

How to search for numbers in URLs?

    Hi there,

we need to edit Amazon IDs of posters, because we don't tolerate to be abused as a marketing/seller platform.

I tried to do a search on 1275324-15 (number changed), which doesn't seem to work.

So, how can I search for this IDs in URLs?

    Thanks,
    -Tom
